This method of making balsamic glaze takes a bit of time, but it’s worth it for the great taste. Try it as a salad dressing with a drizzle of olive oil, or as a garnish for fish.

Balsamic Glaze

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup homemade ketchup
  • 1 cup xylitol
  • 1/4 cup tamari (soy sauce)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger (whole)
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot powder

Method
 

  1. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan.
  2. Reduce on very low heat until thick and sweet (about 15 minutes).
  3. Remove garlic and ginger.
  4. Allow to cool and place in a tall narrow jar or squeeze bottle.
